Portfolio Website
An evolving home for the project archive, from a full-stack application to a static Markdown portfolio.

One content source powers the archive and project pages.
Design and development
The original build
The 2022 portfolio used HTML, SASS, and JavaScript with React, Redux, and Bootstrap. Its backend used Node.js, Express, and MySQL on AWS EC2.
A smaller publishing system
The current iteration uses Next.js static export. Each project lives in a Markdown file, with metadata for the gallery, timeline, skills, outcomes, photos, and resource links.
GitHub Actions validates the content, prepares smaller images, and builds the static site. GitHub Pages serves the exported files.
Keeping the scope manageable
Projects do not need long case studies to be useful. A photo, a short summary, relevant skills, and one clear outcome make a complete entry. Additional writing and dated notes can be added later.
Build notes
A simpler publishing system
One Markdown file per project, two archive views, and a static build for GitHub Pages.
